Last night I found myself watching a panel from 2018’s PolitiCon panel on “How The $%#@& Are We Going To Get Along?” The panelists were a blend of conservative and liberal media personalities the question posed to all was a question well worth asking, how do people with such diverse views of the world get along? The conversation was surprisingly civil in the beginning.
Then there was a drastic change in the mood of the group, an opening of Pandora’s Box, when one of the panelists Michael Knowles who is a conservative Catholic personality at Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire made a statement that was contrary to the other panelists. “How do we get along? It’s simple, we win and you lose…On the question of life… how does one side win not at the expense of the other side?…. You are talking about protecting the life of an unborn baby or snuffing out the life of an unborn baby. I don’t see a compromise there on that issue.”
Another Panelist the former congressman Bakari Sellers who currently is a commentator at CNN interjected Knowles exclaiming,
“Except it’s a bull@#$& talking point!…what we are talking about is how do we improve peoples lives…. what I am trying to do is move the conversation beyond this conversation of life because that’s were we get bogged down… if we want to have a discussion that goes no where then we can talk about issues of life where we will probably disagree or we can talk about race because will probably disagree. But lets actually talk about something substantive that we can probably find common ground on. Like how do we make that people have have healthcare in this country… because what I will not do is waste time [or] continue to have these same discussions…”
Sellers sentiment seemed to resonate with the crowd who cheered his response. It seems like wisdom, it really does, if we are getting no where talking about the issue of life, let’s try to take care of the things that we can all agree on. But that’s not what Sellers is really saying. What he is really saying is slyly and smoothly telling Knowles that he has to shut up about the life issue.
And Sellers isn’t the only one. The Progressive Left is doing the same thing in every conversation. If you say you are pro-life the left says you are not pro-life enough. On the same Panel one of the Panelist accused Knowles of not being pro-life because Knowles supports the death penalty.
I know it is abrupt to say but the rebuttals are nothing more than an attempt to draw the conversation away from the truth. The left, the Democratic party, in its entirety, vehemently, supports the genocidal murder of Americas unborn babies.
It is not hyperbole to say its genocide. Since the legalize of Roe v. Wade in 1973 there have been over 64,000,000 babies aborted. To put that in perspective that is almost eleven times more deaths than that of the Holocaust. It is nearly the population of California and Texas combined. Imagine if these states, all those within these states, simply ceased to exist. These are not just numbers. They represent the most vulnerable and innocent members of our society. They represent the souls of human beings created in the image of God.
Christians must come to understand this reality.
Today, the Left is preaching racial reconciliation, racial injustice, and police brutality. And all make the proclamation that Black Lives Matter.
The question that I cannot help but ask is how can anyone on the political Left, anyone who calls themselves a Democrat, or a liberal or a progressive say Black Lives Matter?
As long as abortion is legal in our land. As long as the the Left proclaims abortion is a human right then I say the real belief of the left and a near majority of Americans is that, “No lives matter!”
If life mattered, if it truly mattered, then today a 28th constitutional amendment would be ratified by a two-thirds majority of congress guaranteeing the rights of the unborn
That’s the world we live in. A world where no lives matter. If life mattered, if it truly mattered, then today a 28th constitutional amendment would be ratified by a two-thirds majority of congress guaranteeing the rights of the unborn. But today there is no such measure being taken. The only life that matters is that which is beneficial. Therefore, life for the sake of life does not matter.
If the culture believed that life mattered the culture would be up in arms over the recent Supreme Court decision once again upholding legalized abortion. Where is the outrage? There is none.
In the time it has taken to write this I know that there have been over 98 abortions in the United States. One hundred lives snuffed out. The nation was outraged by one man crying for his mother and cried as they heard his life was slowly taken from him.
Can you imagine the cries of the unborn for their mothers?
The one person in the world that should be there for them. She is the one person that sustains them, that gives them their lifeblood, their security. In a moment of utter abandonment she completely betrays her unborn. Willingly, selfishly, mothers, let cold surgical instruments tear from their wombs the most precious gift mankind ever receives.
Where is the outrage?
“Mama..Mama..” Cried George Floyd.
How loud must the cries of the unborn be to God! Will we not open our ears to their cries too?
“And [They] shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.”
Psalm 106:38 KJV
What can Christians do? We cannot be silent. This genocide before us is worse than anything imaginable. We cannot be silent.
